Signed an offer at Bloomberg (London office) Later received a call from Palantir and cleared coding and HR screen. TC at BB: 72K + 4K + 7K = 83K YOE: 0.5 Should I continue with the Palantir process or should I be happy with Bloomberg and join there. If I reject Bloomberg, I would be blacklisted (heard from someone) I have heard palantir pays 88K base and TC is 100K+ but the WLB is better at Bloomberg. Please help. #tech #bloomberg #pltr #palantir #london
I wouldnt join Bloomberg. You have a very high chance to ruin your long term career. They deal with damn old tech stack and you will be highly likely working on manitanance project. You can't be creative nor bold. Even if you luckily joined a green field or fun project the engineering cultute is pretty bad. The company is all about the fancy traders, analyists and profit. Engineers are the 2nd class citizen there.
Thanks man. Never thought of this.
Np. Palantir sounds legit.
I feel that your missing one major aspect between the two, working hours/WLB palantir has significantly longer hours, so it brings down your per hour pay. Since you live in London it is better to acctually have time to enjoy what London has to offer.
Thanks for pointing this out. Edited
Join BB, as you've already signed the offer. Keep interviewing at Palantir. If you get the offer, ask another question on Blind with the offer details and experience/culture at BB.
Also. Current TC?
It depends on what you want to learn long term and what kind of culture you want to work at. At Palantir you're working on cutting edge tech, have more responsibility and much better exit options in tech. At Bloomberg you get to work less and have better options for finance later on. Ultimately meet the people in both and decide who you'd like to work with
Hi, can you refer me to Palantir London?
BBG 100% for you
Hey, I have an offer from BBG, London. Can I contact you about some questions I had? Thanks
Are those nos. In Euro's or pounds?
£
Hey OP did you get Palantir offer?
Still in the process
Are you a 2020 grad?
@OP I was in your shoes a while ago. Got both offers. Choose Bloomberg. No regrets.
Did you leave for Microsoft then?
I was at Microsoft before Bloomberg. I wanted to relocate which made me switch jobs too.
