I recently got through to the 3rd round (an on-site interview) with palantir for a part time wordsmith role. I didn't get the job but was told to "keep an eye out for future opportunities." What I am really interested in is forward deployed engineer. I am currently a rising junior. Do you think this was a formality? Am I in better or worse shape having gotten that far and been rejected applying to a different role as a rising senior?
Show the middle finger. Why would you wanna toil yourself at a private company that offers substandard pay in the valley and is funded by NSA. There are plenty opportunities in data mining space.
Yes it was a formality.
I guess my real question is what is there any point applying again? Or once they reject you for one role is there no reason they'd consider you for a different one?
usually you can interview anywhere again after 1 year with no penalty. But I do think with so many good companies in the bay area, it's not unrealistic to find a comparable role with a different company in the same year.
There are candidates who have interviewed in year 1 and then recruiting reaches out to reinterview them in year 2, etc. The company is evolving rapidly so business needs and hiring profiles are regularly changing. "Let's keep in touch" is intentional w Palantir recruiting. Some people do get more firmly rejected.
Yes, this is what they tell everyone. Edit: And don't shoot for forward deployed engineer to start with, that's a consulting thing. Do the regular engineer role and you'll make way more money.
