I interviewed for a sr swe role with Prisma team few months back. Had a pretty good experience through coding rounds and on panel I was asked a bunch of networking questions by the director which was very new to me but we had a healthy discussion and It didn't make me feel like bad, so all in all I think it was a very decent experience. Recruiter seemed super helpful and supportive from the beginning. Helped me expedite the interviews and decision process as I mentioned I had couple offers on hand. 3 or so days after the panel interviews, msgs me late in the evening saying all went well and that it looks like they will have an offer for me and set up a time next morning for catch up. The next morning once we caught up he says that they r not extending an offer and even after my shocked inquiry, didn't give me much details. And pretty much no more communication after that. Any thoughts as to what may have happened that the decision changed overnight? TC:300K Yoe:10 #software #swe #engineering #tech
The timing seems odd. Expedited offer is 1-2 weeks that I am seeing. However, there are always candidates in the pipeline, and interviewing continued until an offer is accepted. So you probably started interviewing and mid way thru the interviews someone earlier in the pipeline was offered, and they did not accept until after your final interview. And the group did not have an additional opening. Did you get the contact info of the hiring mgr or the director? As you should reach out directly and mention you are really interested and are there any other roles In general, emails are first initial and last name. If you DM me, I might be able to help you out. Also, year end was July 31st. Did this happen in August or July?
I think it’s just HR sees overall good feedback. But some positions have higher standards which requires excellent feedback. So next morning when recruiter check with the hiring manager, get a no go.
True. Last candidate round HR said that they are now overly cautious. Just slight comments that might be issues mean no hire. Also because now there are 100s of candidates for 1 position, they want to be very picky. It’s not just technical fit, it’s excellent soft skills
