Got a job offer from Palo alto Networks ( prisma cloud) and I currently work at Microsoft.( azure networking) Both roles have to do with their cloud offerings. Plus palo gives me an opportunity to pursue 3 major cloud platforms. Planning to move for salary growth and compensation. Looking to ask atleast 30k more than what I earn now. Thoughts on this? Compensation: Bonus- 12% I asked for 130k base- still yet to get confirmation Rsu- 45k mostly #engineer #interview #it
What level at PANW? Note: PANW has super inflated titles!
No clue on this. Still waiting for the recruiter
Nawww, stay at MS. Azure networking is better than PANW. You're thinking wow 3 cloud platforms, think again. PANW is gradations of mind-boggling antiquation, even with their acquisitions. Because politics even the Prisma Cloud is old as shit type tech (backend). Disastrous platform. Picture yourself on-call 24X7 dealing with so many issues and you're just breaking out duct tape time and again. There are so many things to consider besides money but even if you're thinking only of the money, where you gonna go after getting in Back to the Future car returning to 1990s? I mean, MS, PANW, and then....? That said up to you
Dammit we are moving to Prisma for vpn right now.
You should consider zScaler instead for true Cloud VPN. Imagine putting a DVD into cloud and calling it “Netflix”
Go with MSFT, unless you want to work 50+ hours week also on weekends

Don't they have support 24*7 in other countries?
Only if you want to work 996
I have a friend that was offered 125k from Palo in Plano working on Prisma Access. They made it sounds like it was hard cap for support type roles and wouldn't go any higher even though current role was much more. 125k sounds pretty good for 4 YOE. I was making nearly that when i had 4 YOE. 150k sounds like a lot for Plano area. What exactly would you be doing? His interaction with HR was very weird. Good luck.
Thanks man! Staff tech support- prisma cloud. Manage and troubleshoot network and security break fix Tickets for top 200 elite customers. Do you know his RSU?
Why not Aviatrix with a great upside on their stocks?
Whats so great in aviatrix
Multicloud platform with repeatable architecture and solid engineering talent
I left MSFT and it does suck, but I’d say just find a better role and org in MSFT. Palo Alto is worse from what I’ve heard.
Why does msft suck?
They showed me the Home of the Future in 2005, yet failed to deliver anything. They had Windows Mobile… Apple OS makes Windows OS look like a kid’s toy. Google vs Bing. Like… what’s to like? What have they done to feel proud of? Copy AWS with Azure? 🥱
How do you crack Microsoft.. is LC tagged MSFT enough?
Ask somewhere else, OP is not SWD
Yes it’s enough.
TC ar PANW is total crap.. Avoid at all costs unless you go at Sr. Principal or higher level.
There are very few Sr Principal roles in the company, what are you talking about even

I am starting to think Chinese interviewers currently fail non-Chinese candidates on purpose.
YOE? Location?
Total years of experience- 4.5 Plano Texas for the above salary
130k for 4 year is less
