How is Pandora doing? Anyone have any insight to future prospects (esp. against Spotify) and what its like in Product or Engineering teams? Potentially looking for a referral there.
They have public financial results. MAU have been creeping down for a while.
Pandora is on Siriusxm’s ventilator support... and it’s culture is fckng dead already.
That's actually is very great thing that happened to it. It's culture was not meant to make a breakthrough products. Results speaks this louder than anything. I am hopeful under new umbrella. Not to mention if SiriusXM didn't acquire Pandora it would have been in world of troubles
Pandora Engineering teams are really good. I am able to learn a lot past one year and we do work on latest tech with very high coding standards. Some of my colleagues are from Faang companies. As a product it does have some challenges to overcome. It’s ad platform is used by SoundCloud, so whenever you listen to SoundCloud Ads a part of it also gets to Pandora. Although MAU counts dropped over last two years, its listening hours are intact and ads revenue increased. Don’t get fooled by MAU from all around the world. An Ad sold in US is more valuable than anywhere in the world.
Spotify is for cretins . Pandora still has soul.
🤣
I did a interview 2 yrs back in Laura leverton web team. But ended up not taking, due to some crappy response during manager round, later I heard by my friends, she was fired
