Does he know what he is doing? https://finance.yahoo.com/news/powell-says-taking-longer-than-expected-for-inflation-to-reach-feds-2-target-175547831.html Fed Chair Jerome Powell signaled that it will likely take longer to cut rates, saying it will take 'longer than expected' to achieve the confidence needed to g...
The most incompetent fed chair ever. With so many Nobel economics winners in this country, no one knows how to fix high inflation. SMH
It’s no easy task tbh, they’re trying to control inflation while not crashing the economy.
Powell has always said that rates will not come down unless inflation is at ~2% range. Recent data shows uptick in inflation So Powell has not flip flopped…
Have you seen dot plot?
Should raise rates even more since inflation is not under control
What flip-flop? People that don’t know what they are doing ignore new evidence.
‘Inflation is transitory’. Says who?
Your position is that inflation is permanent?
Why haven't consumer prices dropped when the supply chains have improved?
‘Supply chain problem’ = stupid trade war that Trump started and Biden continued with. Media tells people the high car prices are due to chip shortage. That card cannot be played any more, can it?
Personally I think he's doing everything right, everybody a critic I guess
Interest rate increase too late in 2022; lowering interest rate is also too late in 2024. Don’t look at the stock market - all that money has no where to invest, and only few riches and enterprises gained. Tesla layoff in light of weak consumer demand is a wake up call. But of course, keep drinking the koolaid - It tastes good and keeps you numb.
He wants labor market to cool as well
Does he even know why 2% is the target? Why not 3%? Or 1%? Does anyone fucking know?
let’s dispel once and for all with this fiction that Jerome Powell doesn’t know what he’s doing. He knows exactly what he’s doing
Strong jobs report, hot inflation. The only responsible thing to do is hold, or raise interest rates. Rate drops will happen when the economy needs stimulus.
