Question about women in their 30’s?
Well the time has come. I got the call from the recruiter that the time has elapsed and they are going to technically close my application even though they could still consider me for a job in the next year. I feel I did as well as I could’ve. I passed the on-site and really just got stuck in the team match phase. It’s sort of a strange feeling to have succeeded and failed without really getting a rejection. I often wonder how many other people get to a similar position only to have it come to a quiet end. I guess it’s OK as I didn’t really have my heart set on google it was just something that was interesting to pursue since they reached out to me. For those of you who are still trying to find your next gig keep your head up stay persistent and know you will find what you seek in the end.
Just had one team match over the 6 week window. I wasn’t picky and would have been happy with the one team I did talk to.
Did they just not want you?
I guess since they didn’t hire me the obvious answer to your question is yes.
Which locations were you looking for a role in? I'm sure that location makes a big difference.
This was in GCP.
In GCP?! 😲 woah
@KPMG why the surprise?

Google team match = modern day purgatory
No joke ☝🏻
I'm sorry to hear that OP. Are you looking for other roles?
Yes I am. I knew this was a longshot based on the posts that I’ve seen on blind so I’m moving forward with other companies as well
Role?
This was for a TPM roll
Okay. Sorry to hear that.
Can you do a write up about your experience? How you prepped? What worked? Questions you were asked etc
Maybe later when I have some time to reflect. I can say there is no magic. I have done a lot of interviewing and honestly google didn’t seem that hard from an interview perspective. If you know your skills, strengths and weaknesses then you should be able to self assess. Even if you do everything correct there is no guarantee you will land the job. The odds are in favor of google. Just do your best.
How long were you in team matching for? We’re you being picky or did the teams not want you?
