Hi, Can you guys let me know what can I expect as compensation from PayPal for Product Manager role. This would really help me, Thanks in advance !!!#productmanager #pm #product
Yoe?
I am a developer with 5 years of experience who is trying to transition into PM so looking for entry level positions
150-200k
Following. How would you all say responsibility and expectations vary by level (26,27,28)?
Most PayPal PMs are shit, they are just project managers no product sense . You are a swe so why do you want to move to PayPal as a PM?
PayPal alone is not my option just wanted to explore on it.
Lol they don’t even do project management really. Like what do they even do all day..
Lol it’s like how banks call everyone a vp, we call everyone a product manager.
My advice: if you really want to be a PM, try to internally transfer as a PM first at your existing company. That way, recruiters and hiring managers will see that you already have PM experience. I know it’s annoying and will delay things but it’s hard for someone who doesn’t know you beyond an SWE on paper to assume you have what it takes to be a PM, unless you have strong referrals etc.
Make sense thanks
As a reference point... I just talked to a PayPal recruiter today about a senior PM position. Lvl 25 midpoint salary is 175k, lvl 26 midpoint salary is 198k. I am in the bay area, so not sure how that compares to their other locations
I got a lvl24 PM3 position in Austin for 185k TC
Does anyone know what are the levels for a Sr. PM role in PayPal? And what are the typical salary ranges? Levels.fyi has a huge variance.
Probably 25-26
Thanks, and what would you say are the typical TC for each?
I got an offer for tc 260 at T26, senior PM
What location is it and what was the breakdown? Do you mind sharing?
That seems low ?
What level you aiming for? Comp varies by level

You would most likely come in as a PM or SPM. Level 24 or 25
