Thanks to all people who took time to vote. It'll be really helpful if you can share the exact percentage of paycut And, if you or anyone you know has recently moved with this paycut
Have any heard back anything
The poll should have told you that either no one knows, or there is no one answer. The truth is that it's negotiable just like anything else.
I’m guessing 5% decrease to Austin. The recruiter will be able to tell you though.
Note that I didn’t vote since it wasn’t an answer. And please don’t listen to PayPal above. Other square employees will also be able to verify the 5%.
Lol..I Cleary said that I don't know about square. 26% cut is at paypal
It’s 5% cut in your base pay. Equity is yours once granted
Much more in my experience. I asked what the salary adjustment would be moving from HCOL to MCOL and it was around a 40% adjustment.
dfinadjsn, was this at all recent? There is no way anyone official would have told you 40% unless you are talking about moving out of the country. Region A to region B is 5% cut in base pay. Even moving to LCOL isn’t anywhere near 40%.
Thank you so much everyone for your inputs Im hoping to get a similar confirmation from Recruiter
Let us know what you find, I'm also curious
Sure I'll update after I hear something
Please do, very curious
I moved away from SF and to a LCoL area. Paycut was 26% of base.
No change to equity?
No. equity is the same but not worth much, atm.
Usually it’s between 12-18%. I don’t work at SQ but based on info from folks moved from other companies.
Texas has no state income tax, so free 10%
Property taxes … property taxes. Even if you rent, those taxes will hit you in the form of higher rent. There is no free lunch.
Lol. Have you ever compared bay area rents. No way the rents are even close to bay area. Property tax rent increase doesn't overcome the difference in the bay
If you can work remotely, leaving this town to another hot mess of CoL town is of no use. What I learned from family and friends is that, thanks to the newly imported TechBro culture and new transplants, Austin is more or less in same league as SF. NH is a place I would turn to if I can work remotely.
Usually it's in the range of 24% to 26% cut, don't know about SQ
