Paypal vs Walmart
If you need to choose between Paypal Bangalore and Walmart IDC (Walmart International), considering job stability, work life balance and exposure to distributed systems Which one is better? Using a friend's account. Paypal TC: 35 lakhs INR + 3.5 lakhs INR bonus + 25K USD /3 years stocks, currently Sr. SWE here Walmart TC expected 45-50 lakhs INR base + 20% base as bonus + 50% base as RSUs /3 + some JB and new hire RSUs. At Paypal, I don't see a clear picture of where we are going and there is constant pressure of layoffs considering stocks dip. I also see the work is not very impactful. On the other hand Walmart IDC is totally new, I couldn't find any inputs on how the work is, wlb and impact in terms of work. But one plus is the role is upgrade in current role at Paypal. Please share suggestions. Not finding much help on Walmart IDC. Yoe 9
How much time it took for you to complete the process ? How much time HR took time to reach after each round ?
HR was very responsive, they took 1-3 days considering it was holidays, it is good

waiting for approvals, I will post here once I get letter. Level is Staff I think it's called IN5, if I am not wrong, I interviewed for the same position.
Why not PayPal? Layoffs are happening everywhere, that can’t be an excuse for not join PayPal. If you really want to work on a high volume of traffic applications and learn how to scale and be accurate all the time then PayPal is should be your option.
Offer looks good, how are you getting a joining bonus ? They kid of stops it few months back. How did you negotiate.
20 % bonus and 50 percent RSU is not possible . Must be 25 and 50 for staff. 45-50 base seems like Staff engg. Congrats. WLB is team specific but in general WLB becomes bad not because of actual work pressure but because of evening calls with US teams. Politics is there. Work quality is alright, nothing great to speak of. But fewer layoffs, probably the least when compared to current market situation and how other companies have just laid off so many.
Any idea how is walmart international, from what I understand walmart us and Walmart international are two entities.
50 base seems too low for staff. did they not tell you the job title OP ?
