I am finally leaving Cognizant after being tricked into working here two years ago through false promises. It’s been nothing but disappointment since joining. I’ll be joining a tier 2/3 tech company that I’ll be proud to tell people I work for. In travel industry. Don’t want to share exact company right now. But here is the TC: Old: 98k New: Year 1 w/ bonuses: 160k Year 2: 144k YOE: 2.5 LCOL I got this through doing the following since may of 2020: - 190 LC questions - 15 coding practice interviews - reading Alex Xu sys design Vol 1 - 7 sys design practice interviews - tons of YouTube videos and articles - tons of heartbreak and not thinking I’d be able to land something good - but never giving up My failures: - square, team matched but didn’t pass HC - verily, failed phone screen - atlassian, failed on-site - Amazon, failed on-site - ServiceNow, after on-site they chose internal candidate - digitalocean, failed phone screen - Twilio, passed coding challenge 100% then ghosted - Uber, passed coding challenge and was ghosted And the best part is that the manager is great and the team’s work seems awesome. Can’t wait for this new chapter of my life.
Congrats!
Congratulations!!
Didn't knew cognizant pays close to 100k for junior. Congrats
I’m technically a senior software engineer 1… with 2.5yoe. That should tell you everything you need to know about this organization 😂
You got cognizant after 190 LC???
OP got *out* of Cognizant after 190LC
Role? Frontend or backend or ml?
Full stack
Congrats man. On a side note though, is Cognizant a good place for bootcampers who aren’t really tech people but trying to break into tech? Got two friends currently in bootcamps.
It’s a place to start but they overhired so it’s very hard to get a project right now. And if you don’t get a project in 5 weeks, you’re terminated.
OP, 5 weeks is really short. Here at TCS is months (3to6)
Congrats! I'm looking to leave too after a similar experience here. Glad you're getting out
I feel your excitement from here, happy for you and congrats!
Congrats! Great job keep going 👏
Congrats!? Sounds like Expedia
Proud to tell people you work at Expedia? 🤨
