If Uber offers you X dollars stock comp per year initially, how would you determine number of stock units from that?
Talk with your recruiter and ask whether or not they have calculated the dollar amount from the fair market value (FMV)/preferred price or the 409a. Offers should be represented based on the latest 409a price.
Don’t do it.
Uber usually quotes a fixed number of RSUs for the initial grant. Your recruiter should be able to share both 409a price and preferred stock price.
Don't believe to what recruiters say! Regardless of what they promise you, want it on paper. Everything else are sugar-coated words just to sign up.
Get everything in writing, including the price that they’re basing the share value off of.
