Last year I got 2.5% hike and 90% target bonus. This year I got 0% hike and only 50% target bonus. They are labelling me as least performer of the team. I am on h1b visa and my perm process is in progress. My visa expires in 2026. If I switch now I will give up the visa process which usually takes around 2 years. Should I switch now and find company who sponsors me and give up the perm progress so far, assuming I can get fired? Or wait it out till i get my i140 approved and try to work better? #tech #layoff #fintech
Stay put. This is why managers prefer to recruit guys on H1B especially if they are from a backlogged country. You will get a loyal employee for years if not decades !

Getting such a low bonus is f***ing painful and makes me doubt their future actions
How long before you get your perm approved?
Around one year. Just got p.w.d. Approved last week
Okay, to be on the safer side, start looking for jobs in case things go south with your current company. Good to have a back up option and if everything seems okay then wait till you get your i140
Has ICE laid off yet?
Not on mass level. I have heard one or two here and there.
