Been at Amazon for just over 10 months now and my manager said I am close to my performance review in a while. I have some questions about this and would appreciate feedback from ex or current Amazonians: - Whats the process behind employees getting rated at Amazon? - Whats the rating scale and will I get to know my rating / feedback (I heard horror stories that ratings are secret and you might be PIP'ed even when you think you have been doing well). - Are there some signs to watch out? What can I do from my side to make sure I am to survive the performance review ever year? No trolls please. I understand the urge but please - appreciate constructive comments only. Assume PIP until proven otherwise. Always watch your back.

Also interested. How come none of us know how it works here?
I think its by design. I heard from an ex director that it is bad. Unless it is someone who works all the time and keeps launching new products in unreasonable timeline you will receive warnings and improvement advice. Most people don’t make it past 2 years. Some are there until 3. They will try to pip in 4th year to recover the RSUS
