If you have a shitty manager, you are f*cked! If not, then you may get “acceptable performance”!
Most managers in Cisco have a ‘yes man’ culture. People get passed on for promotions more than often here, even if you are a star performer in the team!
If you are in Meraki, then don’t expect to get rewarded with promotions or RSUs, because Meraki as a BU is failing. It’s only smoke and mirrors! Product managers feel they are super heroes, but in fact they are a bunch of clowns, following the orders of their smarter counterparts- the engineers!
AMs in Meraki are ruthless, as they are in Cisco blue! A bunch of SEs are amazing! Those are my favorite! The support org is good, barring a few directors who really don’t know their shit.
Layoffs are imminent. If you are planning to move to Cisco. My best recommendation is the avoid at all costs!
You maybe a victim of Last In -First Out scheme!

Thanks for sharing, i’m already here , unfortunately started in Jan right before the layoffs so stuck here for atleast a year.
Unfortunately left a faang for this position. Manager not interested in my career growth. Im level 12 but honestly disappointed with how low level my job is and incredibly basic. Recruiter also lied to me about this position being principal.
Depressing.
