got accepted for Phd program in CS. i know it’s expensive but overall what people think about it?
Expensive? If the price of your phd program is greater than zero then you should absolutely not do a phd. If you can’t get tuition covered and an ra or ta then that’s a very strong signal that you’re being taken advantage of by a department looking for warm bodies.
That actually make sense. Thanks for letting me know
Cloudera gets it. Don't do it, OP.
Clarkson omg really ? Run and dont look back
Can you please explain why?
Just don’t. Their grant situation is a joke
Well I’m going to be working part time. Is it that bad ?
Grants are one way to tell if their research matters or not. If your research doesn’t matter, then any upside you have from the PhD should be limited to satisfying a personal passion or title and not TC
You shouldn't be paying for a PhD, of you are, it's probably a bad program.
Responding to this spam is a better idea than paying to do a CS phd.
Reported for spam, and Blind is the wrong place to be if you're trying to peddle $52k / yr + wfh as a benefit for your shitty job lmfao
Aren’t u getting a stipend?
Yeah after year 2
That’s what they all say - it’s called bait and switch
