Title inflation
TikTok has a bunch of "Heads of..." too and some of them report directly to C-suite execs. Do you feel TikTok's have title inflation too?
Nope, tt level is legit. I worked at meta/fb where there are managers who leads only a handful of engs. A TT manager easily leads 30+, and “heads” could mean they lead hundreds. Note this is not to say they’re doing a better job, just saying title is less inflated.
