I interviewed for Pinterest MLE-2 pooled roles this Feb. After the first pre screening interview, they said that they didn't get the signal to pass so they would like to retake the interview which I passed successfully. 4 of the 5 virtual onsite interviews went okay-good (I expected a positive result for these 4) but 1 of the 5 didn't go that well (it was an algo round - I could get the first test case correct though it had some formatting errors. But overall it looked okay). I got a rejection after one week saying that it was a close decision. What's the hiring bar at Pinterest for these positions. Do they expect us to nail all the 5 interviews? Tc: 195k, YOE: 7 months post masters + 1y pre masters #pinterest #pinterestoffer #tech
Thanks for sharing OP, how did you get calls for MLE positions? Did you do masters in DS or AI ?
Why would you want to join that shithole? You’re in for a surprise
As a fellow Amazonian …. I wouldn’t talk shit about other companies
Pinterest is probably worst, at least in Amazon we have pockets of good teams.
Generally the expectation is all 5 pass, even 2 years ago at peak job market. Occasionally a 4 of 5 pass candidate gets hired if they demonstrated some quality that made them stand out from other candidates. In the current market, you definitely need a 5 of 5 pass.
How did you get notified of decision? Email or call?

PM is irrelevant role and will die in next 2-3 years.
I can’t speak about Pinterest specifically, but in this market with more people seeking jobs than there are open roles, you basically need to be perfect. Study more and do enough interviews, and you’ll hit one.
