A lot of PIPs recently and releveling that has caused massive outrage internally. Culture is dead, morale is at an all-time low. Edit explaining releveling: They basically created a new leveling structure that a) delayed promotions by 6 months and b) gave them the opportunity to reduce pay bands In the new structure, you got either +10 to existing level, +11 or +12. For +10, that is communicated as no promo but because they reduced pay bands that's a demotion. Most folks (75% or so) are in this situation. For +11 folks, they got a small pay bump (like 5%) so it's wasn't really a full promo. +12 folks got a real promo but only a few got that, and the process felt random on who gets it. Also, manager-IC pay gap increased with the releveling.
I'm in
What do you mean by releveling? Demotion?
I never heard this happening anywhere. They just fire you because who wants to get paid less and demoted all while having to show your face the next morning?

They still pay well though afaik
Yes, but less than before
same here at nextdoor PIPs everywhere
Pinterest levels were massively inflated
They’re more inflated now, just with less TC.
Welp
Recently interviewed there - some of the rudest interviewers I’ve ever had.
Because it’s typically hard to get in so the people there likely feel entitled
My experience was great. However, they had no headcount.
Releveling is evil
Its wild. Downleveling tenured employees? Never seen before
I saw it at twitter right before shit hit the fan with Elon
PIP is the new layoffs, since a) it's cheaper sicne there's little to no severance and b) it's mostly silent, meaning it's harder to track internally and externally and there's no PR about it.
Approximately how many eng have been PIPed?
Last 6 months for sure 10%+. It'd guess 10% last December and another 5-10% since. And it's not a "let's turn this around" PIP, it's a "let's managed this person out" PIP. Almost nobody makes out of it.
I think you people have milked pins enough. Now go leech off something else.
But hey! Bill ready brought all of his chums in the company in the leadership position
Funny enough he kept the 2 execs that people already hated, which are the VP of eng and HR
What do you expect when Elliott management increased their stake in the company back in December 2022? That was a big 🚩 They are known for trimming company, make quick changes to the company culture, morale, productivity and output then sell for profit after actively managing the company decisions
