I've been reading that at Pinterest, refreshers are not necessarily tied to performance but also what your compensation is compared to your peers at the same level. Can someone who works at Pinterest offer some data points on the refreshers for L5 and L6 recently? Based on other's datapoints, if the refresher for "meets expectation" is about 180K for L5, how low of a refresher did people who were at the top of the band get? Thanks.
The midpoint refresher for l15 swe is 165 over 3 years. For ml it is 185. For l16, we have 270 and 375 respectively. Yes, that is a large gap. However, the definition of “midpoint” is unclear. I do not know if this is the expected refresher for meets expectations.
Whats the base salary for l15 typically? And base equity grant
Refreshers at the specified amounts are not always guaranteed. Your current comp plays a role as well. If your comp is too high already, your refreshers might be lower than what you would expect.
Do you mean if someone's comp is at the top of the band, the refresher could theoretically be 0? How low does it get if someone is at the top of band already?
Thats a possibility from the last review cycle. People with already high comp got negligible refreshers. But again, this year we went through major changes with comp and role bands. Got to see how next cycle looks. If you have an offer, dont just blindly go with the meets numbers the recruiter uses to project your future comp.
Is that 180K over four years or per year?
Based on what I'm reading about other people's offers, 180K refresher is over 3 years period and it vests 1/3 each year.
TY!
