Pinterest: 215K base, ~1 million $$ in RSUs/4 years (has annual bonuses in form of RSUs) Plaid: 220K base, ~1 million $$ in RSUs/4 years Square: 220K base, ~580K $$ in RSUs/4 years, 25K signing bonus Github: 225K base, ~250K $$ in RSUs/4 years, 40K signing bonus (nice annual bonus structure in form of both cash and RSUs though) Got offers from Amazon and Oscar Health as well, but don't feel great about Amazon's RSU vesting schedule (only 20% in first 2 years). Some other companies I also got offers from but aren't considering as much unfortunately due to substantially lower comp (Zipline, Hashicorp, Gitlab). Current TC: ~230K (yes, this is TC due to currently worthless options) Location: NYC YOE: 7 Any advice welcome!
Can you post the total TC for every company(even the lower comp ones)? There’s some good data here.
👍I'll look to update this with levels and TC for the other companies after signing an offer/wrapping this up. Bit paranoid about sharing too much potentially identifying info pre-signing/making a decision? 😅
There’s so many offers in flight that this is not at all an issue. Maybe fudge the numbers by 2% to change up the exact numbers.
Pinterest, easily
Oscar Health is public: https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/stocks/oscr
Oop, brainfart there, edited the post to reflect, thanks!
In any case, Pinterest is a clear winner for me. Either that or Square. Square will likely rebound in the future, it's P/E is only 6. So I think the Square RSUs could become more valuable Not sure how accurate Plaid's valuation is.
Spotify does options? Shouldn’t that be RSUs?
For Spotify, for your grant (and refreshers), you can choose up to 2 out of the following: RSUs, Cash, ATM Options, OTM Options. I chose cash and RSUs for my recent grant, but my grant 2 years ago was options at $130ish (so worthless now).
TIL. Thanks.
For transparency's sake, I'll look to update this with levels and TC for the other companies after signing an offer/wrapping this up. Bit paranoid about sharing too much potentially identifying info pre-signing/making a decision? 😅
How were the Pinterest interviews?
Pretty straightforward, happy to share more info if you DM.
PINS seems to be the obvious choice. Plaid is probably due for a correction to their private valuation set during the Bull run days. Rest of the offers simply aren’t competitive enough.
Okay, the Plaid valuation was what I was a bit worried about (based off of 13.4 billion eval). Coming from a non fintech company, I don't have much info/experience in evaluating how accurate or overblown that valuation might be.
Look at rest of Fintech. It’s a bloodbath for the public ones. Even the hallowed Stripe is looking at getting its valuation trimmed down. Every valuation figure is probabilistic and depends a lot on the macro environment. And that environment isn’t good for growth fintechs at the moment.
Does PINS have engineering in NYC or are they open to remote?
Open to remote (Pinflex program it's called apparently?)
That’s great otherwise GitHub would’ve had an upper hand here given their reputable remote working policies. Plaid probably already has NYC presence.
Why do people vote for GitHub if it’s much lower TC?
Good wlb, interesting product
What level is that for Square?
L5
Ok, phew, I have an L6 interview coming up soon. Thank you.
