What do vegetarian Indians eat for protein?
There has been a lot of recent discussion about DC (pip) in apple internal blind. Seems we are cutting people out under guise of performance. Some posts are mentioning people being fired as well (unclear whether DC or not). Unlike Amazon, it seems apple PIp is not formal and is mysterious. Like you can be fired without knowing you were in pip. #amazon #meta #google
Layoffs give a company a bad rep externally PIP and aggressive firing via weaponizing performance is both cheaper for a company and better PR
There are really just 2-3 posts! And everyone said that is common. What are you BS about? My org is currently hiring and we are extremely understaffed with aggressive deadlines (not even HW/SEG or other bad wlb orgs)
There are a lot more..I am referring to all posts within past few weeks
Keep spreading bs! You cannot consider āAm I piped?ā , ācan someone get PIPed before completing a yearā type of questions as someone getting piped. There are 5x of love tim and no layoffs post and stock buy backs post
Donāt believe apple will cut ppl , they still need more ppl and doing great as company . May be low 5% performers !!
None of the companies who fired big time are doing bad. Wake up time.
Appleās PIP seems to have just a single month of runway, and thereās basically zero other heads up to an upcoming firing than āinformal coachingā ā and who tf has never received any performance feedback before? So basically you have to take every single shoulder tap 100% seriously, or learn to embrace living with a single month of runway personally, I miss amazon which would at least give me a solid 6 months of runway between focus and pivot, if I was seriously going to get managed out
I need to some more noise if there is even a 1% quota at Apple size. Apple is too big to have a forced PIP Quota and yet get away with 0 noise. We need to see a pattern of such posts.
itās actually not that many software engineers despite being a tech company. I canāt check the follower count, but I can see it only has as many company reviews as PayPal or Capital One. āApple is too big to have a forced PIP Quotaā Nobody has a PIP quota. And thatās not the issue here; the issue is that Apple is 2nd only to Netflix in terms of how short the āyouāre firedā runway is.
Same dude, name changed, fear-mongering again š„±
Iāve only seen contractors go, but then again, everyone I work with is pretty amazing. If I ran my org, there isnāt a single person I would want to see leave.
Which org?
There is no pip quota and no encouragement to pip people. If your manager thinks the team is better off with no one then with you howeverā¦
what numbers? is it like layoff (>5%) without severance?
