Pitting Google and Facebook against one another

Non-software role. (TPM High level.) Essentially same position both companies. Google onsite scheduled. Facebook video conference scheduled. How likely is it that Facebook will schedule an onsite interview just because Google did? Any advice to ensure I convince Facebook to schedule one too? Should I reach out to any other companies?? I’ve been bitten by the FAANG bug and want to give it a solid shot. YOE: 15 TC: 185k in the Southern States

Unlikely that you can intimidate FB into giving you an onsite without a phone screen. To get them to schedule one, be able to do 2 LC mediums in 40 mins in the phone screen. Reach out to as many companies as you can handle. Interviewing is a numbers game.

It’s a position that’s specific so not LC based. I’ve already had the phone screen with Facebook. I have a video conference scheduled this week with Facebook. I was asking if Facebook will be likely to just hurry me through so I don’t get “snapped up” by Google without them getting a solid chance. That sounds super arrogant and like wishful thinking now that I read it back! I looked and Microsoft and Apple don’t have a similar position listed right now. Just wondering what my chances were to be setting up onsites with Facebook and google at the same time - it’s a long journey for me to get there.

My bad, didn't read your post well enough. I don't have experience with your situation, but I do know that Google is known for long offer expiration periods. I don't think the recruiter will pressure you to make a decision in a week, or something like that. It shouldn't be hard to have both offers in hand should you make it through both interviews. I do still think you should throw some other companies into the mix, however.
