It’s tech presence has grown. Like others have mentioned, it’s growing. Duolingo is another and some very unique startups. Respectable COL, lots to do, great for raising families. Having CMU here is a huge help and will probably bring more to the city.
This statement's incredibly misleading especially considering the lead pipes, lead paint, dilapidated bridges, overall terrible infrastructure is the opposite of what you would want for "raising families". It's flint Michigan 2.0. Also, most cmu students want to leave Pittsburgh.

Google, Amazon, Oculus Research, FAIR ( though just started), some major startups like Petuum, Argo AI, Duolingo.

Not really. But everything is probably within half an drive radius of cmu.
Another CMU related startup is Expii which is located in Oakland close to Pitt.

Every it they say is next Bay area, but it is hard to get there. There will be more cities becoming hosts for tech companies but nothing can get big like Bay area
Google has a huge presence, Amazon has some ML teams
Due to the presence of Carnegie Mellon by any chance? Which part of the city are they located ?
Yes, in large part due to CMU. Google is located in Bakery Square, about 2 miles from CMU, and there is a lot of synergy between the two.
