No LC and got straight to solving a real problem using Test-Driven Development and pair programming. Why don’t I see any other tech companies doing this type of interview? It simulates how you are supposed to work on a daily basis. Kudo to Pivotal 👍🙏😁
Every engineer on the earth will taste the LC one day.
Not sure if you get my point. I practice LC everyday but it doesn’t make me a better team player imo.
And nor does TDD
What kind of problem you solved in TDD ??
I work at Pivotal. Pair programming is awesome. And during the interview you get a feel of what it would be like to work with the person on a daily basis. You get a sense of how the person approaches problems, how she troubleshoots, how she thinks about testing etc
You can't fart at your desk anymore. Sux.
How does it pay?
Quite good. ~130k base, $50k RSU and I am in tier 2 city.
Yoe?
They are desperate to hire that they decided to drop the bar. Can you move to other org from there?
I doubt that it would drop the bar. This was just a phone screen and there will be another full-day onsite. Here are my observations: 1. Better preprocessing filter. LC doesn’t let interviewer feel how it is like to work with interviewee in a team. 2. Give candidates more chances for discussing ideas and their thought process. Anyway, I could be biased but that how I felt after the interview.
Oh, phone screen... I thought you are talking about onsite
