Planning to switch from firmware to SDE/ML profile. [India]
Education - MTech (cse) Firmware yoe : 2 yrs TC - 21 I am targeting Backend or ML roles. I don’t have much knowledge wrt backend but have worked on ML in grad and post grad. Current job involves coding in C lang with exposure to various generic concepts involved in multithreaded architecture. Should I target sde2 given my 2yrs exp + masters or would I be considered only for sde1? Suggestions are welcome

You can target both . If you have like 4-5 months then target sde 2 I would suggest you do a hands on project on web services and do course on HLD and practice LLD a lot . Otherwise do LC for month or two and switch to sde-1 quickly.
I am inclined towards 1st approach of preparing for some time and then trying for sde2 but concern is if that will work. Assuming LC grind, design prep and project is done will my resume get shortlisted? Have you seen anyone make such profile switch?
