We’ve all seen it many times at work. People wiggle their way into victim status to get their way. Everyone is so uptight and scared all the time about offending everyone, it makes the scene ripe for manipulation. Just claim victim status and everyone has to affirm you. Losing an argument? Claim victim status and say they are oppressing you. Got some feedback you don’t like? Claim they are a racist or sexist and you’re the victim. They are just targeting you. I’ve seen dozens of career victims at larger tech companies. It’s nauseating, and a shame to those who are actually victimized.
🤣🤣🤣 when you realize you’re playing the victim with this post
I benefit from it, but it’s toxic
Imo all of big tech does this. They claim they want to hire the best of the best, but show me one illiterate person in tech. They are the true victims and we will never know how smart they are. Ability to read is not on any job descriptions yet they don't ever get considered.
Tell me you’re a white male without telling me you’re a white male.
I’m a white male.
Let me guess, white cis male? Oh these victims are so annoying aren’t they
They sure are
How hard is it to communicate professionally without offending someone? And if they’re not willing to adapt then leave it at that? Why go to work with a I’ll fix you attitude? Maybe build some tolerance? I’m sure on the other side people must be finding you equally obnoxious to work with.
Worked at Google. Lots of DEI and woke speak from execs of course but never saw unwarranted victimization in my teams or the teams I worked with. However, I was a part of two legit victimization situations (as witness) and Google did what big corporations almost always do - side with the abuser (man, esp. if he's much higher level) over the legit victim (woman). DEI and woke is all bullshit for the press and Wall Street plus it ultimately runs screen on legit victims. You people wanted it, well, you people get it.
Did someone report you to HR my friend?
