Hi I recently got an offer from the following 3 companies for Senior role. Have 6+ industry experience and have a Masters degree. Company A (cloud based storage company like box, dropbox etc. not a Google/amazon level company) - 175k, 250k rsu,10k sign on. Company B (telecom services based like Plivo, hubspot, twilio, zenefits, bandwidth etc. a PaaS company) - 165k, 250k rsu, 10k sign on) Company C (Salesforce, SaaS) - 155k, 200k rsu, 25k sign on) So my question is is it fair market value excluding the top dollar money paid by the big 4? No negotiations yet. How do my offers sound? Considering cloud companies, better to ask for more rsu or base or sign on? What's the outlook on these companies? any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Another key question to ask them (and do some checking/research): 1) do these companies refresh equity grants over time after you join? Could be every year for most employees (even for 'meets expectations' rated people) like Goog or could be limited to only top performers at a certain tenure/seniority (like Salesforce). 2) what are your expectations for performance of the underlying RSUs over time? Is the company growing? Do they have a defensible moat in their space? Are candid online product reviews good, bad, etc.? What is sentiment on Wall Street- P/E ratio, PEG ratio, vs industry peers...?
Thanks. Good advice about asking for refreshers.
Dude, all those offers suck. Last Sr eng on my team got 175k and 800k in rsu. I would keep interviewing.
Monopoly money != real money
OP didn't specify it was an Eng/Dev role. Could be HR or Finance for all we know.
How much is your current compensation? If it is compensation what you are looking for then go for the highest. Congrats on three offers, you are now in a very nice position to let the companies compete for your services. Not many hiring managers enjoy the bidding games so play it smart.
what are the target annual bonus for each of the companies
I think you can go higher in RSU side for A,B and C. Ask for at least 400k. For C, you can ask for more salary as well.
Thanks for the input. Will do.
