Please help with advice. Want to switch to machine learning or swe

Hello folks, Working as QA Automation engineer (python). Doing some data science analysis for team, support devs in case some more sophisticated scripting has to happen. Tc 150K. 5 yeo. If i continue doing qa, well its 250k at most for next 10 years. I would like to switch to ML (or SWE). Currently taking Andrew Ng's course on coursera.org. My questions are: 1) What's the tc ranges for ML engineers? And yes, it is the first question. For SWE there's levels.fyi, but it doesn't seem to have such extensive information about ML. 2) Where I can lookup answers for interview questions? There're lots of websites about algorithms for software engineers, like interviewcake, leetcode, algoexpert etc. 3) Maybe it would be easier to switch to SWE and then see if I would like to do ML? It seems to be more clear: hammer on algos, take system design courses, go to interviews. And I do understand that it would require blood, sweat, tears, nervous breakdowns to get to other side. No naive apprach will be taken. Just need to get some more information

Following, doing the same thing right now

There are two ways to ML - through DS or through SWE, unless you have a PhD in a related domain which I assume you don't. See which of these two roles are you closer to.

Thank you for reply. All things considered, it is SWE. Also, you're right about your assumtion.
