I just had an interview of IC6 engineer at Coinbase. The interviewer frequently bugged me for the python language related questions. And when I almost finished the coding but 1 or 2 lines in 15 mins he said we do not have enough time. (15 mins still there) Today, the recruiter told me they won't move forward as the interviewer said no for the coding interview. Later, I checked the LinkedIn, that interviewer is a protocol engineer joined Coinbase 6 months ago. Before, he was DevOps engineer. I really wonder if he can write code or not. Coinbase lets such engineers perform SDE interviews just looks like a joke. I am not blaming the interviewer. Just want to share the pool interview experience.
What’s a stuff engineer?
They engineer stuff obviously
This is my favorite comment of the day. Kudos!
‘the hell is a stuff engineer? Did you mean to write Staff Engineer? Maybe that’s why they didn’t hire you 🥴
Hard to tell. Cannot trust anyone who does not share info first TC or GTFO 🫵 amigo
Sounds more like you sucked in the ‘Stuff Engineer’ interview than the interviewer did anything wrong.
Move on sir
At CB, all engineers of a certain level start interviewing shortly after hire (maybe 60 days). Interview training consists of watching a few videos 😛
To be fair it’s way more interview training than I’ve seen at much bigger tech companies.
Everyone above new grad
Sorry for your bad experience man. Interviews are like 80% chance. Give it another shot after a few months.
Is coinbase still hiring?
Yes
Would you mind sharing the interview questions type? I have my phone screen coming up.
