Multnomah Falls if you have never been, otherwise Portland is just a smaller less interesting version of Seattle.

This time of year - effectively nothing. I would rather book some kid friendly resort.

Depends on what you are looking to do- granted it’s not as grand as Seattle. But OMSI for kids, zoo, Japanese garden, Washington park / forest are all in the city area. The gorge and multnomah falls (waterfall hikes, not just one) as well as Mt hood skiing all ymmv at this time. Usually you can plan a day trip to the coast (or several days by itself) A day for the city/downtown and a day to the gorge/falls. A little further south Silver falls, outlet malls and if u can snag a pass to Columbia/Nike store if ur into that kind of thing (saving $$$, sales tax) https://pdxparent.com/ https://explorewashingtonpark.org/
