Male with 7 Years of Exceutive Experience, bachelors in math&biology. Working as a partner in a Defense/Intel contractor managing 70 personnel subcontract personnel across 12 Federal Customers and 6 Large Primes. I also manage 40 prime contractors for DISA and Army Intelligence. Running all business ops for the IT portfolio, I grew the company from 20 employees to the current level. I would love to move into consulting to get to the next level. I would move anywhere within the US and possibly abroad. Can anyone give me tips, or a referral? #Consulting #bankersfinancial
Sounds like you have good experience to get in the door. Consulting is so broad though. Are you specifically looking to get into one of the more prestigious firms (Bain, McK) or just any company that's calls themselves consulting? You have local MC companies, all the way up to the Big 4 etc. You could easily get on at Acc or Deloitte on the Govt side, but the pay is so much less and guessing that's not what you want. So it goes back to exactly what are you looking for in a consulting company?
I'd like to look at the Big 4. Reading about some of the ways McKinsey works. I'm really strong in going into chaotic situations and making some order with stakeholders. I guess i'm looking for faster pace, high project variety. I have no problem with long hours and putting work in to fix something.
All I can say is just apply, only way to ever know. Reach out to recruiters on LinkedIn, ask for a referral here on blind and even reddit etc.
