Are there any ways in which someone on H1 can take a break. even if that means going back to home country for 1 year. will the visa get invalidated/expired? what are the various options would love to know. thanks TC-170K #tech #visa #h1b
H4 if u have spouse on h1.
One of my friend had H1b in India (never used ) and came to US on h4 and later than employer reactivated H1b .
My guess is finding employer who is willing to reactivate h1 will be the most difficult part (considering you will be india). Not sure about this - but b1/b2 is another option if you want to maintain status without working. Just my guess, haven’t seen anyone do that.
I am wondering why is that so difficult? Will it be difficult for big tech players like FANGMULLA too? Or they just don’t care since labor supply is always there Yeah the idea is to do things no one has. Thank you 🙏🏻
You just need to find someone to reactivate your visa. I know many people go back to work a couple of years and then get back. If you have good skills it won’t be hard. However, imagine if you’re the employer, you surely want someone in the us if everything else is equal
By good skills you mean great at LC ? I have seen that’s the only criteria as far as the interviews go
That depends on your level i think. LC system design and etc. a lot of people coming back on b visa to attend onsite
Grad school - switch to F visa.
Go to mexico and claim $450,000 first.
Lol what’s this about
Biden Government plans to pay that much money per person to families separated ( children and parents not together) while seeking asylum during trump administration. Total idiotic. They should help their citizens first
Op, there are people who came back on h1 as others said. But it is not as easy as someone who is already in US. you would have trouble at every stage from getting interview till offer. You should be prepared to try hard and it could take even up to a year to get a job, I would imagine. I had trouble just moving from Seattle to bay area. So location does matter!. Regarding visa validity, transfer/renewal as long as you have time in the 6 year limit, you would be good and can use anytime.
Nice , I definitely know it’s not something easy. But I want to explore some other fields/areas of my life that I haven’t been fully be able to dedicate my time to. I am also thinking Canada or any other country can be a good backup option if I really couldn’t get back in the US? Any recommendations for other countries are welcome too
I heard canada's weather makes it really hard to adjust for someone who grew up in tropical country. Also the job market is very small there and pay is low. But since immigration for extended family is easy, may be by having family close, the above issues may not seem that big.
same situation op got some family issues that i need to take care of. Google and fb said they are going to reach back to me for international interviews next year, dont know what will actually happen. hoping for the best
You can't. Find a firm which will give you WFH and go to India and work
That won't work since you need to be within 50 miles of your place of work
That actually works. H1b only regulate anything inside the United states
