I finished my onsite interview with Github on 30th June and was told via an automated email that the talent partner that i was working with is no longer with Github and moving forward there would be someone else. It also mentioned that Github is going on a break from July 2 - July 10. I have reached out to the new person twice already (once after the break) but haven't received any response yet. So I reached out to my interview coordinator and she redirected me to the old talent partner. I have read stories on blind that Github recruiting is bad and sometimes people just get lost in their system. So, I was wondering if I should reach out to someone from Github or just wait till I hear from them if at all? #github #software #engineering #swe #interviewed
Yup. Their recruiters leave a lot to be desired.
I've been on team match since June 1.
Oh wow! That's a long time
I have final round coming up, curious what I should prepare for, worried about the ruby round
I know telling you not to be worried is not going to help you much.... I hope your recruiter told you by now that you can use any language of your choice to code so you don't have to know Ruby to code. For the round that does involve some Ruby knowledge I would say take an hour primer on Ruby to understand how the basic syntax works.
Ah okay, yes the recruiter said one round is language of my choice and another is required Ruby. I’ll take that primer. Do we touch the take home at all during on-site? Thanks for all the info
I can second that GH recruitment is not at the top.
