I am looking for some advice from the community for my brother who is currently working at a Big4 consulting company, and aspiring to get his MBA degree in 2021. Question is what is the best role he could take up in terms of compensation post MBA ? He is looking to learn about the different career paths, compensation range and if it’s really worth it...
Thanks alt_qq, PE meaning Private Equity, IB ? And you meant Project or Product Manager ?
PE= private equity IB= investment banking PM= product manager
Ok cool, any idea what comps to target for these roles approx ?
What firms are in this ‘Big 4’ consulting group? Have only heard of MBB. And I don’t consider the audit firms ‘consulting firms’
It's probably the consulting arm of a big 4 accounting firm, which isn't bad but is def tier 2 If it was mbb he would've said mbb
Consulting arm of Auditing Big 4. There, corrected it for you. Delloite consulting is good, rest is okayish. Top consulting Cos are McKinsey, BCG and Bain. Highest comp would be PE at 200k+. Then consulting, IB and tech PM come after slightly below 200k. Other roles/industries would average 150k tc unless it's non profit which is less.
