Postmates , Doordash IPO?

A friend has an offer from Postmates. He was told that an IPO is near. Probably around 2019
That’s what the rumors are right now. The exec team hasn’t denied it during interviews.
He was told they were profitable on a per order basis until a few months back. They raised some money to expand.
In all seriousness, I ordered from DoorDash exactly once. Driver was high, delivery was late, food was cold. What’s the appeal? I won’t order a second time.
Happens with every gig economy service. You can’t have strict controls over what these contractors do. Uber has a bunch of sexual assaults, Postmates / GrubHub / Uber Eats also have intoxicated drivers that are late, etc.
Their IPOs might get destroyed at wall st
