I have Software Engineer/ Machine learning interview at META next week. It is a 45 min online tech screen with coding problems. I don't feel fully prepared for it. Finding it difficult to find time to prepare due to my current work and other interview rounds that I'm giving. I heard META has cool off period of 6 months if you fail tech screen. Is that true ? Should I postpone the interview by 2 months ? I'm afraid the role will get filled or META will stop hiring. Please help !
Yes
It is 6 months cool off period.
Meaning you cannot be considered for any role at Meta for 6 months?
Swe roles, you will still be considered for production engineer roles.
Taking two months may not be a good idea. Take 2-3 weeks.
Its meta, not Microsoft that you need to prep for this once in a lifetime opportunity ππ€π
Microsoft?
Lol this has to be a joke
Take 2 to 3 weeks and focus on solving Most frequent meta questions on Leetcode
They really pull questions from there. No jokes
I agree, recently did the interviews and recieved offer
Isn't meta on the decline? I don't really have a dog in the fight , just not a real interesting company to work for right now with the massive stock decline and stuff
Not as much as the media would have you believe. Look at our actual earnings, not the reporting about them (e.g., earnings are up on a constant currency basis, DAU growth, etc)
I for one would love to be on the decline if it meant I had $44 billion in cash
Which level?
You want to push the interview back two entire months to avoid a potential six month cool off if you fail? Huh? First off: stop planning for failure, thereβs other opportunities anyway. Second: what even was the plan? Prep for 2 months, fail, wait a week to hear back, immediately reach out to a new recruiter, get another interview 2 months after that? I sincerely donβt get it.
Did they reach out to you initially or did you apply? If so, just tell the recruiter your current responsibilities require your full attention at the moment and you will reach back out soon when timing is ideal. If not, and you applied, go forth into the interview and cram as many medium Leetcode problems as you can into the timeframe between now and then, starting with Meta tagged probs. Even if you bomb it, youβll know what to expect next time, presumably 6 months later
Unless you have a very good reason, taking 2 months will only mean you will wait until the last week to start preparing. So maybe take 2 weeks
Thanks. What about the cool off period ? Is it 6 months if you fail tech screen ?
Yea I think itβs 6 months
