Who did Pulwama?
Is it possible that Google will find a way to not extend the offer if I am pregnant before my probation is over? Assuming the performance is good. Does it happen that the company wants to get rid of women by not signing the contract after 6months probation period? What's the company policy and Germany law? The pregnancy only happened after the contract was signed.
Germany likely has good protections for this but you may want to consult a German labor lawyer.
Can you push back start date. I’m a guy. I don’t know anything else to add.
I am sure that if they do so it will be considered discrimination... And companies like Google are wary of doing that
I'm concerned about the fact they can come up with a different excuse like that I don't perform as they want or some other weird hole in the policy.
In Germany by law your probationary period is no longer in effect once you make it known you are pregnant. A pregnant employee is not terminable.
Thanks a lot. And then after pregnancy I can come back to work and they can't let me go if I want to come back?
(this is all assuming you on a German contract) If you are on a fixed term contract your contract will run out as specified in the contract. If you are on a contract without a fixed term or you're still within the specified contract time you are guaranteed your job back. You are entitled to six weeks of maternity leave before birth and eight weeks after (more if it's multiples or a preemie or the kid is not ok) at full pay. You are also entitled to three years of Elternzeit per kid and are guaranteed your job back. During these three years you can get money from the state (Elterngeld). It's 14 months at 2/3 your usual salary
What's probation period?
6 months
