I worked as a firmware engineer at a startup that unfortunately closed down during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, I've been primarily involved in test automation and QA work at a mid-sized company. While the salary is reasonable, I'm eager to return to firmware development. I'm concerned about potential skill gaps and would like to hear from individuals who have recently interviewed for firmware development or embedded roles at Apple, Google, Nvidia, AMD, or Meta. Additionally, I'm seeking preparation materials and YouTube videos to help with my goal. I do have a LeetCode premium subscription, which I use for practice sessions about 2-3 times a week. However, I'm not very confident in my system design skills. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. My timeline for this transition is approximately 4-6 months.#tech #semiconductor #google #meta #apple #firmware #embedded Yoe 10 TC : 320 K
Which company is this? They are paying you really well. I may be able to help you with embedded material. DM me.
I'm also interested in system design skills for embedded. Most of what I'm using nowadays to learn are youtube channels like: low byte productions, ben eater, james sharman, jacob sorber etc. These aren't really geared towards system design in the way other channels are (interview process) but they offer a lot of information that is relevant and could show up during an interview.
OP, did you find anything good for system design?
Nope , not yet.
