Prepare for a chat with a Google recruiter?

TC 150k, 1yoe, Autonomous Driving for Mercedes-Benz. I didn't apply for any position, a recruiter just reached out to me stating he is interested in my profile and would like to have an exploratory chat. He doesn't know yet that I am actively looking for a new job. Unlike the Uber recruiter who I mentioned in my previous post, he immediately responded and set up a call with me. Should I mention that I am super excited and woule die to work for Waymo or will it sound like I'm desperate? Should I mention that I've been trying to get into Google's autonomous driving department ever since I was in college? I applied like 3 times, but they never considered me. Any help or suggestions or tips and tricks how to talk to recruiters are much appreciated.

The recruiter likely won't care. They will likely all wait till you pass your phone screen then on-site first before taking anyone seriously.

Ok, so my first goal is to get the recruiter set up a phone screen?

They will setup a phone screen, but you must leetcode a lot to make sure you pass it.

Practice your panic techniques and have a list of politically incorrect statements and swear words ready to scream nonstop. As soon as they call pick up the phone, breakdown and cry, and scream all the words on your list into a megaphone. You’ll be golden.

In all honesty this is the easiest part just be normal and relaxed, think of it as a nice get to know you chat. The recruiter is there to help you succeed, the assholes trying to fail you come in later rounds. Good luck!

Don't be super excited as they will low ball you at offer negotiation stage. Say you'd like to learn about the role, projects etc
