Looking at a few product roles at Oscar Health. Wondering if there are any PMs that work there that have insight into: - Company culture - WLB - Opportunities for growth and impact - How much influence PMs have - Comp TC: 300k
I wouldn't recommend unless you're passionate about healthcare/health insurance. Your points of interest listed above are super dependent on your department and team I guess. What I can definitively say is avoid Operations department at all costs...absolute dumpster fire.
Hey! Any chance I could DM for a referral ? I’d really appreciate it
Have same Q but for platform if anyone has insights?
Platform is Oscar's latest offering and looks to be the future of the company. This is the most techy/least insurance side of things at Oscar. Also one of the, if not the most disorganized piece of the company. I'd say it's generally a cool area to be in as this is where the technology stack really comes into play, but if you're supporting Platform from the operations side of things for example, you're in for a shitshow of a time. Basically Platform allows health systems/insurers to leverage Oscar's tech stack with the goal of fixing healthcare on multiple fronts, operating in a kind of SaaS model. However the company (and Platform) seems to be having an identity crisis whereby we're unsure if we're a health insurer or tech company (sure you can be both, but they operate very differently) leading to an unclear path forward, at least below the leadership level.
This is very very helpful; thank you!

Why would you move from google? Would they be able to match your TC? I have had trouble finding startups to match cash
Yes cash side probably can beat actually
For a PM role? Idk...
