I know Google is very selective with hiring Product Managers, I have a sense that there is bad or imperfect advice around the whole interview process. If the guides and material on the internet are good enough, I would imagine a lot of talented colleagues and friends from good schools/companies would have cleared the bar. 1. Are there any of you who thought that PM @ Google was a long shot, but made it? 2. Can you shed light on the difference between those who make it and those who don’t? 3. Do you sense that lot of candidates get rejected because they don’t see and think clearly (about what is expected of them)? 4. Do you think most end up failing because they don’t get a chance to understand the process like an insider does? 5. Is it possible to break down the processes to fundamentals and prep for a solid 6-7 months to close the gaps? 5. Also how does one identify their weakness and gaps as it pertains to a Google PM interview process?
Feel like mba recruitment in faang is mostly just go to top 3-5 biz schools and hire folks with solid tech background.

I thought I was a long shot but made it. Lewis Lin's various materials helped me a lot, as did using those materials to talk to current product managers and get a sense of what I was in for.
Were you a product manager before this?
Yes, at another Faang and got that job the same way
Not sure if this is helpful but my friend got an offer from them after he did some mock interviews with interviews.tech
