All, Have an interview at Walmart labs for Product Manager role. I have mostly been a TPM at Amazon with a short stint as an ISM. Can someone please shed some light on: 1. What to expect from the phone screen with the HM? Its Suppy Chain and Logs related team. 2. Given my TPM experience how to best prepare for the PM role at Walmart Labs?
You deserve better than Walmart.
Like what? How do you know what he/she deserves?
I am really hoping to get insight or help on the interview process. Can you guys please help on how I can prep?
Did they mention what team?
If it is for the supply chain org in sfo avoid. I interviewed with them and then they said they don’t have funding
Ah bummer. What did they ask you in phone screen with HM ?
are you serious about going to walmart from Amazon! read reviews..not sure if you will enjoy the cultural..e-commerce is way behind! So basically more than innovation its a competitive parity play! You can move PM within amazon.walmart bar isn’t very high fr PMs, know many people joined as PM without PM/product management exp.
How did you get your first pm job
I really appreciate your comments and concerns. As a community I really hoped if someone could have just shared some interview insights. Your two cents have added no value to my immediate concerns. @Begger Amazon's culture is the reason I am looking elsewhere.
Just left Amazon for Walmart eCom. Several Amazonians were in my onboarding orientation. Seems to be a lot of migration. I have a very different role than you (I’m in R&D) so I can’t answer HM/interview questions. I left AMZ because of the culture and I’m very impressed with Walmart’s inclusion so far. Ignoring the snark here, Walmart.com is hungry for innovation and willing to take risk. Unlike Amazon these days.
I haven't seen a lot of answers here that are helpful. I'm a UX designer for Walmart Labs and interface with PMs daily. If you have specific questions around culture I can help with that, or I can direct questions to some of my PM friends if you want to message me directly. Also, good luck if it hasn't happened yet 🤞
Ah man. Walmart really?
Yeah. Cant move internally to the bay and Walmart Labs seems like a good option. What reservations do you have ?
Why not? Just curious!
