Got a thumbs up from the Product hiring committee at LinkedIn and got matched to a team. Chatted with the hiring manager and furnished references. The hiring manager called them, but now wants to further deliberate role fit with his leadership. I am confident my references were positive. What does this mean? If the HM decides to pass on me, does that mean Linkedin is passing on me or is the HM passing on me? In the meantime, I lapsed/declined other very competing offers. I am hoping to get other offers soon. If I get one of those, leaning towards accepting them. Should I? Thoughts? Does LinkedIn offer RSU refreshers every year?
Sometimes you can skip the first match at a company and go for a 2nd.
Not allowing that till the HM says not a fit.
Hiring manager decided "not a current fit for his role"! He wants to evaluate more candidates. Isn't he overruling HC decision?
That sounds bizarre and you should ask the recruiter on overruling part. Do you have experience relevant to LMS? What would be next steps for you?
Totally bizarre. I don't have deep expertise, but it doesn't matter. HC thinks this role is best filled by a generalist and I exceeded their generalist bar.
op, what’s your yoe? If current hm passes on you it’s not game over. They can find you another hm if you’re still interested in accepting the offer.
10 years Product, 10 years Eng. There are no other open/unassigned positions at the moment. Recruiter walked away!
I am having issues with LinkedIn as well.. bailing out of the process after HC sign off. The ads team seems to be a very picky team. Horrible recruiting experience.
Wouldn’t think so, have patience . What’s the offer?
$350k Total - $205k + $115k + 15%
No sign on? What’s your level?
