Any thoughts on product culture and WLB at the below companies? Thanks in advance 1) yahoo 2) zendesk 3) roku 4) clickup 5) matterport 6) spring health 7) headway 8) adobe
Worked at both Adobe and Zendesk. Zendesk is pretty good at WLB but not top tier pay. People are great, less finger pointing/ gaslighting. People have difficulty with accountability sometimes. At Adobe, depends on the team but burn out is real. Many people to do a small job so impact is diminished. Good brand, decent pay, can take lots of inspiration from solid leaders at the top.
Interesting. I had heard wlb at Adobe was generally a lot better compared to other big tech companies. Thanks for sharing.
Adobe is toxic as fuck.
How come? Like how exactly? General vibe of undermining by peers or management micro manages and sees their reports as tools to exploit?
Project timelines don’t depend on complexity and workload, they depend on a director who is technically incompetent and likes licking up. You are then forced to work from 7:30am to 11 pm and if anything goes a tiny bit not as planned, you get yelled at, cussed and gaslighted. You get an complex issue assigned 2 hours back and they yell at you why the f it hasn’t been fixed already. Oh you are expected to answer calls 24 x 7, no matter you are on call or not
WLB at yahoo is tier 1
