Hello blinders! I'm a relatively new product designer with 2 years of experience working in healthcare and data products. Looking to transition into the tech space (with specific interest in Discord, Twitch and Spotify.) Based out of Canada hoping to find a new beginning in the States. Would really appreciate a referral if that's possible. Thank you so much for your time! #referral #discord #twitch #design #spotify

Thank you! I will send you a dm tomorrow morning!
What would be the skillset for a product designer, if you don't mind me asking
Based on what I have seen and understand, the skills for UX and product roles are virtually the same (e.g., presentation, collaboration across teams, wireframing, prototyping, ideation and planning). However, product design does seem to have more of a business aspect to it: balancing user vs stakeholder goals, thinking about cost and effectiveness, the brand of the business, etc. They also seem to be much more involved with shaping the scope of the product. I must say all of this might not be entirely applicable as the roles and responsibilities still seem to differ quite a bit between companies!
This is right. Theyre basically the same, but typically companies with the “product designer” title will expect more well rounded skills versus just someone good at UI or UX (visual versus experience)
