My interest in product management developed after I started working at my current role.
It would take an MBA and atleast 10 more years before I can do that in my current company.
A few options — there are tech agencies in Grand Rapids, MI that work with Caterpillar. You could leverage your knowledge to get a PM job there for a year, and then move up. Another option could be to join a start up for a year and then move up. Last option, would be to launch your own product / business.
