I'm one year out of school, and I'm working as a project manager in CA for an edtech startup. I'm getting paid $55k + got a $5k relocation package + $1k/month for rent for half a year since I'm on site for a client. No benefits. I feel like I'm making less than I could be at other edtech companies like Newsela, Khan, Coursera, etc. Am I right in thinking that? What's a reasonable pay for a project manager in Edtech? I'm looking to apply to a job similar to the one I have now but at a different company; I'm curious what numbers to expect. Any help is appreciated - thanks!
One year out of school for a non technical project manager sounds about right. You can ramp up salary in a couple years to 80-90k
Thanks for the insight!
I'd still try and get other offers....should at least have benefits aim for $60-65k with Benes

Rahul Gandhi is poison but the people who believe in him are a lot worse
So with $55k +$6k = $61k That's pennies in CA. Find a gig that will pay you at the absolute minimum $90k + benefits. Shouldnt be hard. Do some networking. Get some referrals.
Thanks! I figured it was pretty low but at the time I was desperate to accept any job that would give me experience in the industry. Appreciate the advice :)
