Project Manager with less than 1 YoE

Currently have a compensation of $70k/yr in DC area. I want to know how I can make this grow quickly over time

Switch companies every few years. Can usually jump 20-40% with each move as long as you focus on skill improvement in between.

Get certifications. Learn IT project management skills

I'm working on my PMP currently, are there any in particular IT PM certs you recommend?

American Airlines ydntudkof Oct 12, 2019

Experience with Agile, DevOps, etc., associated team dynamics methodology, I see PMs struggle without relationship building, communication strategies, corporate politics awareness skills. You can no doubt make a lot more money by getting experience, change companies, or pick a large Corp and grow too.

Agile certs like PMI-ACP, CSM, SAFe are big right now.

CSPO??? Isn't that hot too?

Elavon grownup Oct 10, 2019

Haven't heard of it. Or do you mean CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner)?

Yes

Get out of traditional project management and try to go towards technical program management. The emphasis is more on systems thinking, agile principles, team facilitation and product development than task managing developers. Agile certs mentioned above will help. Start out as a scrum master if necessary and work your way up.
