Haven't looked at the update from this year but what I saw before is total garbage if you are doing anything other than a school project. The 1 write qps limit per entity is just the icing on the shit cake
app engine datastore is a total joke, but the rest of the product is pretty good. Also the new container based flex environment ex. node.js is awesome.

It doesn't matter how many times one failed. Only thing which counts is number of times one succeeds.
This is true for google because they have the resources to fail and still exist.
